I live at a senior independent living facility. The other day, I left my room about 6 PM to take the elevator downstairs. As the elevator door opened, someone else from my floor slowly walked up to the door and we both got on. I noted that she had grocery bags in her hands and I could see that the front bag was full of pill bottles. As this elevator goes to the basement where the recycle bins are, I assumed that she was throwing out her trash.

But as she got on and turned, I could hear the rattle of pills in those empty bottles!

So I asked her if she was throwing out old pills.
She replied, "I am just going to say with relatives overnight, be back tomorrow noon". I have to have my pills that I have to take"!

I estimated, sports fans, that there were about 20 to 30 containers of pills in that bag!! This means that she would take 20 to 30 different KINDS of prescriptions and meds between 6 Pm and noon the next day!

She is not the only one in this building that does this!
The desk lady tells me about the two ladies that takes 20 pills every morning first thing up.
Then there is the guy who I overheard talking about the five conditions that he has and I there realized that he could indeed talk three hours about his condition and he would not even begin to repeat himself!

for many here, "health" *IS* their second career! I suspect that many here have to go see the doctor three or four times a week, for tests, followups, checkups, prescriptions, treatments, exams, Planning, evaluations...etc...etc.

Each visit would consume most of a day.

For them, life IS "maintenance"!

Be thankful to the lord and to Spirit and your genes, for your health!

Now here I might take the "devil's advocate" position. What if these people were living in, say, 1905? They would not have any of these pills, perhaps only one or two, but these elders might not be even alive!
Thus, these 20 pills a day may well keep these older people able to live independently, and out of the end-state nursing home!

Extra Time.

They will have extra time to get right with their souls, their relatives, their life!
Maybe more time to learn to love, to forgive someone, to become Saved with Jesus.
Why my own father, who had turned against me, was given an extra year by Spirit:
he made amends with me, and he lived that one year.

I like to think that: that these pill takers at least have the opportunity to
have extra time to learn of life and to grow their souls.

these 20-pill-a-day people are MY and YOUR future! Why even last week

Insulin Levels Drop With Progression Of Alzheimer's Disease, Linked To Tangles In Brain
Researchers at Rhode Island Hospital and Brown Medical School have discovered that insulin and its receptors drop significantly in the brain during the early stages of Alzheimer's disease, and that levels decline progressively as the disease becomes more severe, leading to further evidence that Alzheimer's is a new type of diabetes. They also found that acetylcholine deficiency, a hallmark of the disease, is linked directly to the loss of insulin and insulin-like growth factor function in the brain.

The study, published in the November issue of the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease (http://www.j-alz.com), is the first to look at insulin levels early in the course of the disease. The authors' previous work published earlier this year primarily focused on the late stages of Alzheimer's.

"Insulin disappears early and dramatically in Alzheimer's disease. And many of the unexplained features of Alzheimer's, such as cell death and tangles in the brain, appear to be linked to abnormalities in insulin signaling. This demonstrates that the disease is most likely a neuroendocrine disorder, or another type of diabetes," says senior author Suzanne M. de la Monte, a neuropathologist at Rhode Island Hospital and a professor of pathology at Brown Medical School in Providence, RI.

They probably will soon develop a "pill" for this and then anyone who is susceptible to Alzheimers, even at an early age, *especially* at an early age, will take one to three pills a day
and these people will *run* to the pharmacy to get these pills to keep senility away!

Thus "pills", by the dozens, are in our future!
You will gladly take them!
