Russian Orthodox Icon of Jesus
Russian Orthodox Icon of Jesus.
I always wanted one of these Eastern orthodox Icons for my apartment.
One day I found a site on the internet.
the largest Russian Orthodox monastery outside of Russia. Tis located North of New York city.
Holy Trinity Monastery is a male monastic community under the auspices of the Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad. We are dedicated to a life of prayer and obedience according to the pre-revoluntionary monastic tradition. We draw our origins from the Pochaev Lavra of St. Job of Pochaev in Southern Ukraine when monks fled from Pochaev in the face of the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917. As descendants of the Lavra of Pochaev, we continue the mission established by St. Job in the 15th century to publish books for the edification and protection of the faithful. Within the monastery is located a studio and school of Russian iconography conducted by disciples of master iconographer Fr. Cyprian (Pijoff). Also situated within the monastic community is Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary, with young men from around the world training for the holy priesthood and ministry within our Church. Consisting of impressive buildings and an other-worldly way of life, Holy Trinity Monastery is a source of spiritual nourishment and support for the Orthodox Church.
you can order a photo Icon for yourself. Ranges from about $2.50 to about $7.00 for a 8 x 10.
There are many Icons, mostly of Jesus, Mother Mary and Jesus, and Russian saints.
I have this photo hanging on my wall, now, where I took the photo of it. Tis difficult to position
this Icon, it being so reflective, to not have reflections bounce back at the camera!
Tis Amazing what one can find, on the internet. Anyone living in New York City area can go visit this place, west of Albany.

yes, another pretty orange sunset, from my west bedroom window, here in Tallahassee, Florida.
And the sun and clouds "dare" to be beautiful! "dare", as in these days of bad news and ruining weather disasters, there is beauty to be found. You have to be Looking for it. then be "Empty" when it is there!
"empty" like years ago, I walked past the University library, at sunset, and I could see not only the incredible sunset, I could see that the hundreds of students, coming and going through this library entrance, never noticed this sunset! their heads must have been full of study and course material: they were not empty, no room for a sunset in *their* brain. Their souls must have gotten a bit starved, after years of Not Noticing!
so today there are the "electronic" Zombies! these are people who, with ear buds plugged into their ears and with them texting on their phones, there is also no room for sunsets!
