oh the excitement, unlimited tropical moisture and a hot sun, awaaaaay we go!
11 am and already the huge cumulus grows immense.Maybe 90 degrees already at 11 am! This cloud slowly came over to my building and maybe a half inch of rain fell. skies so humid that all one has to do to make it rain is to jab upwards your unopened umbrella and the umbrella point will poke a hole in the clouds and her the rain comes!

the big Red Mushroom
yes, a huge Big Red Mushroom. After three inches of rain, this comes up in one day and then might be gone a day later. other mushrroms on the next block are now covered with mold and brown-black. Yes, here mold grows on mushrooms, it is *that* humid here in Tallahassee, florida! Yesterday I estimated the dewpoint temperature, at one time, to be about 80 to 85 degrees far. !!

the shadow of a thunderhead
sunset, looking to the west. a far off thunderhead casts a shadow eastward onto the clouds, that is why the clouds look "funny" at the near-right end of the horizen.

In the Land of White Mountains

In the Land of White Mountains
looking upwards from my 4th floor landing, a thunderstorm! I call tallahassee the land of the White Mountains! 80 to 90 thunderstorm days a year, here. Almost every summer day there is a thunderhead cloud somewheres. Never two alike.
