the stretched out storm!

the stretched out storm!
a small thunderstorm cloud reaches into the upper atmosphere and the winds aloft are *very* strong and thus the top is strewn and pulled downwind, to the behind of where I stand.
I noticed this last year often here in the summer. Unusual for Tallahassee in the summer, at 30 degrees North. This means that the jet stream is very very active and at the end of June this is not usual at all, here! Blame it on "la Nina", blame it on sunspots or global warming, or maybe just on "2011/12 the weather is just plain weird all over the world!
Will be no hurricanes this year in the southeast USA if this pattern continues. "Dry" is the Word, I guess, for the south and for several more years to come.
