feb 25th in the subtropics
Yes, late afternoon, here in Tallahassee, florida, usa. Very late afternoon, actually, the camera had to deal with fading light. The temperture must have been around the middle 70s.
The subtropical late winter.
But spring has begun! Here in tallahassee, spring often begins about the 10th of febuary and lasts until early May!
The sun is glowing on the trunks of the trees, the azalas are blooming. Cabbage palms and evergreen oak trees.
No wonder so many people move to Florida, in the northern area of the country where I grew up, there was about 80 inches of snow per year, in my 1950s childhood.
Comes with a Price, this beauty: you have to *love* heat!
100 days a year of 90 degrees or more!

Evening old house
The sun is setting, here is an old house of the Southern Style, here in Tallahassee, florida, usa. It is used for a company headquarters, a small local business, now. It might have been built around 1900, I do not know. Older areas of a city can have wonderful surprises, and the traffic is often light, as everyone lives out in the suburbs. There are real sidewalks and I see people out walking or walking their dog.
The cirrus clouds stream in off of the Gulf, part of some local jet stream, overhead. About 70 degrees, shirtsleeve weather, on Febuary 24th.

evening at the graves of the war vets
I came across the city cemetery area, yesterday, about 6PM, near sunset, the area of the cemetery for the veterans of the wars. The flag is at half-mast, the spansih moss is fitting, the late sun casting the last bit of rays upon these Stones.
Sometimes at the front, various churches leave their Service flowers on the front stones, after their services are over with. Too, some people leave flowers for their loved ones. the "Large view" shows a number of left flowers, here and there.
Wars have Costs.....The World wars saved western civilization, but the recent two wars seemed to me, the Vietnam and the Iraq wars, to
lack this Feeling of Sacrifice, for me.
A severe test of my new canon powershot a610, a late suntime!

Final fantasy XII : screenshot, ps2
A screenshot of the game Final Fantasy XII, played on my Ps2 and on a Sony crt hdtv
Tis very very difficult to take a picture of a tv image, especially if the game, like is FFXII, has image processing going on, within the game, micro-second by micro-second. Those "wavy lines" are an artifact of the photo, they do not appear on my tv, this image was the best of my set, due to the difficulty of taking photos of a tv-screen.
I posted this image here so to use it for a link to the Playstation
section of the www.avsforums.com forum site
is the thread this appears on.
Yes I bought a 34 HDTV just for my games. I have Learned, Learned that a non-HDTV game, or program, for that matter, does not look good on a lcd monitor! Only tube tvs can play both well.
I might be 65 years old but I play games.

sunset through a window
Oh the sunset looks so red and nice. The sun sets over the gulf of mexico, here at Tallahassee, Florida, usa, and the color is amazing. probably the sky is clear far off to the west so that as the sun is about to set, the sun "undershines" upon the undersides of the cirrus clouds.
